    Hello

A M1330 replacement laptop offer from Dell includes the choice of

Nvidia Geoforce GT420M 1GB with Optimus

    or

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5450 1gb

I don't really play a lot of games. I use the laptop on 24" monitor with Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. What are the differences and does the Optimus technology give better battery life?

I had bad experiences with 8400GS Nvidia chip that melted several motherboards on the M1330. Does the ATI run cooler?

    Thanks.

gt420m as its a faster card with optimus! whereas the 5450 is a slower class-3 card. couldnt comment on the heat dissipation but as the the geforce would switch to onboard when not in use, i would say its the best bet :)
