I just called Dell to setup a return and they kept trying to get me to keep it by offering me further discounts. They got all the way up to $150 before I told them to just issue the return so I could get off the phone.
Seems like anyone could just call up, ask for a return, then "settle" for the discount. Just a thought.

Yeah, that happened to me with my M170. They ended up offering $500 off.
It's funny you mentioned this because I tried to do it with my M1330 and they were like "ok, here's your RMA #"....
They didn't even try to talk me out of it. So, I guess it is hit or miss with trying something like this. -
You get more freebies, when your system gets delayed!

The refund/credit depends on how much you got ripped off on your initial price.
If your price was low to begin with, you will get the RMA for sure. -
I got a free router and portable 120GB harddrive! -

You're also eligible for 15% restocking fee, right? Seems they can make some money by having you ship it back, especially if you got it for a steal.

restocking depends on where you are located.
