A 100gig 5400 HD for a 60gig 7200? They are the same price, and I am second guessing my choice. I mean, I'm within 21 days and all. Think it would be dependent on which rep. I talked too? If not, wheres the cheapest place to get a 60 gig 7200 and a drive encolsure? That way my 100 can be for just typing and media, and the 60 for games and such...

I serious doubt they would let you change the config after it ships. You would have to config a new machine. You can look for a replacement drive at newegg.com or zipzoomfly.com. Those two businesses have good prices and service. I would suggest that you replace the stock drive with a 100GB 7200 RPM drive and sell the original on ebay to recoup some of the cost.

Well, I probably wont seel it. I like having a backup. Plus, I did pay like 75 or something to step up to the 100 from the 60. Something like that, don't remember.

Also, maybe I'll get lucky. The Dell saite says the 100 gig has a 8meg buffer but none of the other 5400's do. If it doesn't, maybe I can finagle a swap.

Ok just checking. Thats def. not worth it. My old laptop has a 5400 in it, and the acess time on that is fine to me, so I think I'll be ok for a while. Or at least till I get a 7200 and a Memron ;)
