Okay... I used 3dmark06 free version to test my system:

    T7300 2.0ghz
    2gb667 ram
    8600M GT
    WUXGA 17" (1920x1200)

All on default speeds. Used nvidia 163.14 drivers, or at least I believe they installed. I only got a score of 2911. I thought most scores were around the 3500 range... could this be a problem with my screen or the drivers or something?? 2911 seems low.

That's fine for a 1280x1024 resolution. Those with WXGA or WXGA+ screens will get a higher score, because they can't run 3dmark06 in the full 1280x1024.
