    Hi,

I'm about to order the D630 and I'm wondering if I'm able to upgrade the network card without voiding the warranty? Also can I upgrade the HD without voiding the warranty? Is it a SATA or ATA drive?

HDs can be upgraded w/o losing warranty, but a thing like the wireless card might. Call up Dell and ask them. If it doesn't void it, then it's an easy swap. Just pull out the old one and plug the new one in.

Upgrading the wireless card should not void the warranty either. It's accessed via a cover on the underside of the laptop.

Changing the wireless card is no more difficult than changing the HD.

Thanks everyone! This can help others who are thinking of purchasing their own upgrades to get better for less.

On the D630, the wireless card will be under the keyboard.

    Regards,

    Thanks! ;)

Same advice still applies however, you will not void your warranty as they keyboard is a user-serviceable part as well.
