So I've been reading that you can get a better deal on Dell products by calling and talking to a sales rep than you would if you ordered online. I just tried calling them to order an Inspiron 1520, and the lady I spoke to didn't really do much for me. She just put the $275 off coupon on there and that's it. I can actually get a better deal by ordering online.
So does anyone have any tips on how to get them to give you a good deal? Should I just keep calling until I get what I'm looking for? Is it a good idea to say something like.. "If you can't get it below this price, I'm not buying it?" Also, would the people I talk to see that I've already called and received a quote from another rep?
Thanks
Can't wait to get the Inspiron![]()

Try other reps.
You need a rep who is little more desperate than the person you talked to.
It just may be because it's still mid month though. -
just place an order online and use $500.00 coupon off the Starting Price plus up to $200.00 in gift cards (make sure that the starting price of the system you build is at least $1399.00 in order for you to use a $500.00 coupon and an automatic $150.00 gift card or make sure than the starting price of the system you build is at least $1499.00 in order for you to use a $500.00 coupon and automatic $200.00 gift card)

Getting a good deal depends on lot of things. This month you will get a good deal on November 17th, 22nd and 26th.

whats wrong with ordering before 10 000 redemptions of $500.00 coupon off the Starting Price and then if the price will go down after Nov 16th just simply call Phone Dept and adjust the price and If they won't change the price than just return a laptop and order a new one ?
i don't think deal will be sweeter than $500.00 off coupon and up to $200.00 gift cards anyway, but who knows, maybe on Cyber Monday, Nov. 26th they will be giving a better deal -
