Hey guys.. Ive read in some of these threads about people calling Dell to recieve some disks?

Since Ill be getting my e1505 in a week or so (hopefully less  ), I was hoping someone could list the CDs I should call Dell and ask for.

    Thanks

You will need the Windows XP Reinstallation Disk

If you want, get the disks for the various programs that are loaded (DVD Player, Media Burner, Antivirus)

Repair disk for Media Direct, in case you corrupt it.

Finally, if you didn't get the drivers with your e1505 (it should be on the HD) you can ask for that on CD.

Thanks Gautam. Do any of these disks cost anything or are they free? How about Shipping + Handling?

    Thanks

No they are free. Talk to Dell's Techinical support though.

Here is a more extensive list:
XP bundle: Includes XP disc, Drivers & Downloads disc, and Applications disc
    MediaDirect Repair
Dell Media Experience - only if you got XP Pro or Home
    Cyberlink PowerDvD
    Sonic Record Now

Any software that you bought such as Audigy Advance, MS Office, etc should have discs sent with your laptop.

Thanks Southern Girl. I did not order any software with mine.. though I may regret passing up the intergrated Creative Sound Card.

I will give Dell a call the minute my laptop arrives. Im trying to be very careful with this computer as I do not know when my next one will be :D.

If you plan on formatting, make sure to check out the format guide (link in signature). There are some helpful hints about the drivers, and please pay attention to the MediaDirect post in that thread. So many users end up deleting all of the partitions without realizing what they did.
