    Hello,

So I got a backlit keyboard from another poster (fostermatt, thank you so much!). But I am having trouble getting the backliting to work and was hoping I could get some of you to help answer my questions.

So I switched out the keyboards. Plugged in both connectors. I can type and everything on it, but the back-liting doesn't work.

First, do I have to flip the backlit keyboard connector "upside down" so that the side with gold edges are face down?

Second, do I have to install special drivers for the backlit keyboard to work? When I press F6, nothing happens except that my "selection" might switch to something on the start bar menu. What happens when you guys that back backlit keyboards working?

Third, does the backlit keyboard work for in Windows 7? Do most people have it working?

Any other suggestions on how I might get this thing working would be helpful.

Okay, figured out what was wrong. It was that I had the backlit keyboard connectors upside down. You actually have to flip it upside down, which was a lot more difficult to do and I can't imagine why they made it work that way.... lol

Anyway, so if you're having trouble getting your back lit keyboard to work. You're probably going to want to make sure you check that you backlit keyboard strip has the stiff "dark brown strip" facing upward and not downward.
