    Ghost 2003 and Dell PC Restore Image

    I just wanted to know will I be able to restore the dell pc restore image that I backed up in a DVD using Norton Ghost 2003?

    Some Dells should have come with Dell recovery which is basiclly Norton Ghost 2003. To get a more detailed asks if your system will/would recover the Norton Ghost 2003 image from the DVD, you should run the Symantec/Norton (Ghost) Driver Validation. Which is not on Norton Ghost 2003 disk however it is on Norton Ghost 10.0. I have search Google for the .exe file, however it looks that you may only get it off the Ghost 10.0.

    But I would say if you are just using the DVD drive and the hard drive (that does not have any RAID stuff/information/software) then you will be ok.

    I didnt get the last part, but I am pretty sure I have the Ghost 2003 image and not 10, because I heard only newer systems are shipping with Ghost 10 which is not based on DOS, my laptop was made in May and while restoring in the title bar it is written symantec norton ghost v8.3 which is even older than ghost 2003.

    I really need a straight answer... can I use the Dell PC Restore Image "fi.gho" on a ordiniary Ghost 2003 program?
