    Hi,

I bought a bluetooth adapter for my Inspiron E1405 (old laptop, yes, but I just got a pocket pc and would love to sync over bluetooth).

The package came and it's missing the bluetooth cable, so I logged on Dell's online chat and requested it. The customer service rep passed me to technical support, who passed me to parts department, who passed me BACK to customer service!!! I thought I'd have better luck with different rep so opened another session, this time the csr insists that the cable should come with the laptop and not the package. I bought my laptop from dell outlet meaning it's a refurbished laptop, so I don't know if the cable is missing because of that or what but I don't get why they won't just send me a cable... Anyways, I tried to call Dell's customer service on the phone so we can communicate better, the rep was really nice and helpful and said he'll ship me the cable; but when I received the package, it's just another bluetooth adapter and there is still no cable!!! So, now I'm stuck with two bluetooth adapter. :( :( :(

I'm so tired of dealing with dell, should I give up? If anyone have an extra bluetooth cable, I'm willing to buy it at a reasonable price. Please let me know. Thanks!

I'm not familiar with your Notebook, but doesn't it have a USB port? What kind of interface does your BT Adapter require, if not USB??

If your Notebook doesn't have any USB ports, I highly doubt that this adapter will work with any other port (i.e. serial, PS2, etc.) so I'm not even sure there's supposed to be a cable...

p.s. At the risk of (unintentionally) insulting anyone, it is clear that BT is a wireless technology, right...?

he is talking about a BT dongle that plugs in on the inside and requires internet antenna.

    Hi,

It's an internal bluetooth adapter, just like a wifi adapter, hard drive, etc. You need a cable to connect the adapter to the motherboard for it to work.

First of all, it is not a dongle. It is an internal interface. Second, the cable is for connecting to the module to the motherboard, not internal antenna. :p
