    Sup, I got a Dell E1405 through my school repping:

    1.83ghz duo
    1gb ram
    80gb hard drive 54000
    upgraded screen, and random stuff.

    900 shipped.

    Good deal? Gunna be happy and all?

    That isn't a bad deal, but you may be able to do better. If you google Dell coupons, you can usually find 30-35% off ones. There aren't any currently available right now, but I am sure they will come back soon as they always do. Also, that notebook does not come with and dedicated graphics cards which means you will not be able to game well if you are into that. I would hold off, look for coupons online, and check out the E1505 where you can get dedicated graphics. Dell offers through school and work (I get them through EPP program) are not usually as good as the ones that you can find online if you google something like "Dell Discounts". Hope that helps.

    Yes definately do this. It will make your comp a lot faster than it is when you get it from Dell.

    Well, 1.83 for 900 aint that bad, whats the GPU(Intel Integrated I guess)?

    Bhatman: only GPU offered on the E1405 is the Intel option IIRC

    And yeah, for the price you didn't walk away with too bad of a deal, although there have definitely been better. If you got a warranty on it then all the better. Definitely consider reformatting the harddrive once you get it and removing all the dell bloatware. Just be sure to backup the drivers on a disk or another harddrive, at least the wireless card drivers, as those will be necessary.
