Hey guys, just wondering if this deal for my 1520 is good or if I got ripped:

    Inspiron 1520, Intel Core 2 Duo T7500, 2.2GHz
    2GB, DDR2, 667MHz 2 Dimm
15.4 inch Wide Screen WXGA+ (1440x900 LCD TrueLife for Inspiron 1520
    256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT
    160G 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition, English
    8X DVD+/-RW Dual Layer Drive
    Integrated High Definition Audio 2.0
    Intel 4965AGN Wireless-N Mini Card
    Integrated 2.0M Pixel Webcam
    Creative Earbud EP630
85 WHr 9-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery, for Inspiron 1520
    Dell Wirless 355 Bluetooth Module
3 Year Warranty with 24/7 Tech Support with At Home Service, Next Business Day Parts
3 Years Complete Care Accidental Damage Protection
3 Years Lo Jack Theft Protection

    Subtotal: $1,538.24
    Shipping & Handling: $0.00
    Tax: $123.71
    Environmental Disposal Fee: $8.00

    Total Price: $1,669.95

The above is with all discounts applied (so the $253 off instantly on select inspiron models, $200 for student savings, 12% off through EPP discount, and 7% off for purchasing the Dell Plus Care package)...before any discount would have been $2434.00 before taxes...

Still...why do I feel I got slightly ripped off???

I reckon that's a good deal, I got the T5450 processor, and only 2 years fullcover warranty, and my harddrive is 5400RPM, everything else the same and I got it $100 cheaper. So I got ripped off.. lol

How could you apply the $200 student discount on top of the $253?

Anything at retail is fair, and anything with a discount is good.

As long as you don't go with the 4gb option, you didn't get ripped ;) That is priced insane for 2gbs extra at $1000.

Haha...such is computers! By September, they could have a higher video card, 3 gbs of RAM and a better CPU for the same price! Try not to constantly be price watching cause you'll drive yourself nuts and it always changes.
