I noticed that my university's Dell store has finally been updated with current configurations (it was nothing but a Latitude D820 for a long time).

They currently have a D630 and D830 package. The D630 package in particular interests me:

    C2D T7100
XP Pro SP2 (no option to configure for Vista)
    14.1" WXGA+ for an extra $30
    2.0GB RAM
128MB NVidia Quadro NVS 135M (no option to switch to GMAX3100)
    120GB 5400RPM HD for $39 extra
    8X DVD+/-RW Media May Device
Intel 4965 agn for extra $20
    9 Cell Primary Battery
4 Year Limited Warranty Plus 4 Year NBD On-site Service and CompleteCare
    Bluetooth for $29

Total price, including the configured options I mentioned above, is $1272.40.

This seems to be a pretty nice deal for what I understand is a pretty well made notebook.

Just curious what you all think?

EDIT: One of the things that appeals to me about the D630 is the idea that I'd be able to get an extra battery and use it in the modular bay.

    That is nice.

    Plus, you get those warranties.
