i dont know for that money there are a lot of options.. id look at maybe the toshiba x205 costco has one for 1700 with a step down in cpu but it has the 8700 gt ddr3...

 

I have no use for HD DVD and I like the higher resolution the Vostro offers as well as the extra battery and 3 year complete care
