Just trying to determine whether I should cancel or keep the order as I'd like to have a M1330 to replace my Asus AJ8P (build quality).

Also, do you think it would be worth it to attempt to contact Dell and possibly drop the 3 year warranty (not sure if it's considered "Complete Care" or not) in order to bump the CPU if they will give me a decent price on the upgrade?

After looking at some other threads, just getting a bit concerned the 5250 will be regrettable down the road.

    Thanks for the input.

Sorry about that - cleaned up the text a bit. Also added some more detail with the questions.

    Thanks.

I'm no expert at the tech stuff but I would keep the warranty as it's a darn good price to have and it will make your experience stress-free - why not just see if you can upgrade the processor for $150 or so - it will still be an amazing deal !

yah i would definitely upgrade to the t7300, its the best speed/price processor. its a higher fsb and double the cache, whcih just from the t7100-t7300 is a 15% increase which means its much more.

anything over the t7300 is not even really noticeable

i would also keep the warranty, especially if it has accidental, 2 years down the road - throw it against the wall and if they don't sell it refurbished on their dell outlet, then you can simply get a new replacement, better model :)

I ordered via a University deal - do you know how I can tell if my 3 year warranty is complete care?

And I'll call and check on the CPU upgrade tomorrow - it was kind of expensive (ie: pricier than the CPU itself from NewEgg) from the University site I got the deal from.. so it might be a bad choice.

It is possible later to open the laptop and replace the CPU myself? Didn't know if there were mobo differences or not between CPUs.

    Thanks for the help.
