This is a sincere message. I wish all of you who are still waiting for your laptops "good luck".

A month ago, I was trying to decide between getting an HP and getting a Dell. I've been reading these boards for roughly the same length of time. I considered the Inspirons because I liked that one could personalize it by picking out a color for the lid. Of course now this seems to be a problem for Dell as it doesn't appear that they anticipated the demand well enough ... in addition to the general parts shortage ... thereby frustrating the heck out of their customers (new and old) who just wanted a laptop for college or work. This whole thing about the shipping delays is what made me decide against getting a Dell. Shame too because I saw the 8 colors at a local Dell store and fell in love with the spring green and the flamingo pink.

So, I went with HP. I'm quite happy with it and I got to experience instant gratification.

Again, good luck to you future Dell lappy owners. :)
