I "bit the bullet" and decided to try Goof Off solvent(great stuff) to de-badge my Studio 1737

Photos to follow whenever I can borrow my friend's camera.

    The BAD:
Tried using it on the bottom to remove the REFURBISHED sticker that was crooked(Driving me nuts). It melted the plastic, and left a horrible mismatched texture that faded to white half an hour later. Luckily It's on the bottom.

    The Good:
I put a SMALL amount on the end of a Q-Tip. I then used this to run off the word "studio" on the gloss black media panel. As soon as the word 'studio' was erased, I wiped the gloss black media panel with a dry paper towel, and then a water-dampened paper towel, and repeated the dry/water routine two more times with clean section of paper towel.
Two days later, the glossy black plastic shows no signs of deterioration, you CANNOT tell that lettering was ever there. It makes the laptop look very sleek :)

The refurbished stickers are easy to remove by hand. You can rub any residue with your fingers and it will come off. Some paints are very resistant to goof off, but it melts most plastics.
