So I did the online chat with Dell yeserday to figure out where the DVD burning/playing software for my E1405 was. After a format I didn't have the disk with the software. I also mentioned the driver/util CD seemed out of date and didn't even list my laptop.
Today I got these in the mail. Cyberlink PowerDVD 5.5 Software install CD, Roxio Creator, MyDVD Combo LE and a new driver and utility cd.
The driver/util cd is definately newer. The bottom of it list May 2006 (Revison A04) where as the one that came with the laptop says Apr 2006 (Rev A31)
Just thought I'd let ya all know incase you were looking for the correct cds.

Do you think they would give XP CDs too?

Can you post the phone # you used to call them? Because l also reformatted my E1405 last week and l had to download mpc to play dvds (works fine, but unless l get the actual mpeg 2 codec l can't watch dvds on windows media player).

All you need to do is call Dell's Tech Support or you can chat with them. For the dvd decoder, you need Cyberlink PowerDVD. They'll send them to you in about 2 business, free of charge.
