Everything is great...Just trying to get used to Vista...few quick questions..

    1) On XP i had it that when i had my laptop plugged in there was no tray icon but when it was unplugged the battery tray icon would appear....can i do that on vista? I dont need to have the tray there when im plugged in but i like it when im not plugged in...

    2) When i open the lid...the screen comes on right away but about 3 seconds after it flashes...is there anyway to stop this?

    3) how does aero work??? Only way i get to view aero mode is by clicking the shortcut next to the "start" button...is this the only way you use it?

thanks...if i have any more questions ill post em..

    one more question...

What are people doing about the wobbly battery? Myne seems to shift quiet a bit but it does not really bother me.

Ok, if the battery thing is really bothering you take a piece of electrical tape and use it to line the track (it's very very small so use scissors to cut it down). Instant no wobble.

    1. No <_<

    2. Start > Task Scheduler > Task Scheduler Library > Microsoft > Windows > MobilePC > TMM > Disable

    Oh...and it's an Inspiron 1420 not an Inspiron E1420...

    :)

That's the device connect and disconnect noise.

Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Change System Sounds

    Device Connect
    Device Disconnect

Go to Sound, scroll up, and select None

    :)

    Geesh,

You would really be better off doing a little research yourself before posting every little question..... It saves both time AND effort...

In this case (and MANY others), just use http://www.google.com and just search for...

    Vista Office 2003

Just one of the MANY answers....

ok nvm i just realized that the device connect/disconnect sound sometimes made noises on my xp computer as well when i closed it..guess sometimes when you shut the lid and the monitor goes off it thinks a device is disconnected...

& i dont mind vista at all...no problems yet and it actually runs quicker & more stable then my xp laptop.
