My 1680x1050 had some backlight bleed on the bottom. I don't think there was much graininess to it, but there was a lot of bleed.

I called tech support, they told me to call customer care, held on the phone for 10 minutes, and a new system with the LED screen will be shipped soon.

This computer is awesome. It is usable now, but it bothers me when on darker colors and I can see the bleed.

I guess Dell isn't so bad...as long as you get your system!

Man this LED screen is awesome.

During your first boot the LED screen is at half brightness and it looks like a normal screen then you login and its like PLOW super bright.

Hey, way to go. I can't believe it was that easy for you.

I got the Samsung screen (WSXGA+) but amazingly it looks very nice. I'm more than a little surprised after reading these forums for 3 weeks. Other than the backlight bleed (I don't have significant BL bleed on mine) how did yours look?

Yeah...I don't think I got any grain on mine...but that damn light bleed. It was the first thing I saw.

At least they are taking care of it. :)

Just to clarify: are you getting a replacement system or just the display? Might need this info myself as I'm also getting that Samsung display and it looks like it's a 50/50 chance of getting a crappy one. :)

    Nice!!!

If I bleed, I am def. calling dell and requesting a new screen, if not LED. :)

My LED has a little blob of light leak but you only see it on a pure black screen, you cant see it at all on anything else, and you hardly see it on a black screen.

I really don't know how much trying to haggle got me. I just kept asking if that was the best price he could give, and if he could substitute other parts without extra charge.

Most of my good price was from that 40% off deal they had.

I got my price durring a 40% off promo, and had my EPP discount on top of that.

    Paper,
Did you get a defective screen? I did, so that is why I was probably able to haggle it out of them.

That 40% off sale was amazing, coupled with the 8% epp and the 10% stackable coupon you could request gave a few lucky people a hell of a deal! I got mine for $909 plus tax (free shipping) :D I dont think we will see a deal like this any time soon! ;)
