I received a call from a guy who was clearly calling from India today about ComgpleteCare. It seemed that he already had all my info and apparently ordered CompleteCare before I even confirmed it. My son had picked up the phone, was given a confirmation number, and my son then gave the phone to me. When I was given the phone, the guy said that he wanted to verify a few things. He asked me for my credit card number, which I stupidly gave to him. He then said that CompleteCare was ordered, and I was like . I then proceeded to argue with him for 15 minutes about how I did not want to pay extra for CompleteCare.
Sorry if that was a bit incoherent, but I'm worried since I forgot the rule of not giving credit card numbers over the phone unless I make the call. Although the guy did confirm all the details about the credit card (such as my address, phone number, name), I'm wondering if these phone calls normal.

Check with you CC company to verify the charge did not go thru. If so, do a charge back against Dell../and dispute the charges.
Were you near the end of your warranty on your laptop? If so, Dell will normally make these types of phone calls to try and sell you the extended warranties.

I just received my computer about 3 weeks ago, so I thought this call was a bit abnormal.
