I got 2 remotes and these nice Creative headphones (DONT KNOW WHY I GOT 2 REMOTES AND 2 SETS OF HEADPHONES):

This is a comparison of my 19" widescreen(top) at 1440x900 and the my 1530(bottom) at 1280x800. (they are both at a wierd angle so dont use this for brightness info. I'm jsut posting this pic for the resolution) Its Google:

    Looks nice.
Looks like Dell really is trying to take on the MBP.
Hopefully issues dont start cropping up around this model like they had with the 1520 and they may have a hit on their hands.
    Me likey. Congrats!

could you PLEASE install ntune and see if it will show you your gpu core and memory clocks?

I have been trying for over an hour to figure this out. Tried atitool, ntune, and rivatuner - none of them work :(

    w00t, that is awesome! :D Hey...about that second remote...if you're not interested... ;) ;)

Aircast, I'm sure this won't help, but in case it does, it only took Dell about 11 days between my order date and delivery. Thats for a 1520, though, thus why I'm not sure if it'd help :/

I found the best thing is to NOT go by what they say on the Order Status page. For instance, mine said "In Production" on the site, but when I called the 1-800 number, they told me it was in the boxing stage.

Thanks, it actually did help to clear the doubts I was having about dell's website saying "in production", although judging from the growing popularity of the new XPS and the flood of orders Dell must have to deal with, it might take a little longer... My anticipation is killing me!!!

P.S. PICS PICS PICS!!! AND BENCHMARKS!!! AND MORE PICS!!!! AND ANYTHING ELSE RELATED TO XPS 1530!!! Need em to feed my impatience :D

Thanks. Unfortunately, I think something is wrong with my system :(

Mine shows everything as 0 MHz. Can't figure it out. I've tried gpu-z, atitool, ntune, and rivatuner.

your in vista, did you check versions compatibility.

I will be the first to goto XP with that machine I think, I am going right after I bench everything in vista.

Speaking of which i need bench guides for: following demos If you know or have any PM me please
FEAR - Found its ingame very easy to do*
    COD4 MW
Company of Heros Singleplayer Demo - Ingame tool to do it.
    Hellgate London Demo
UT2004 Beta Demo - Found this demo tool
    TimeShift SP Demo.

I can use fraps but it will not be the same demo run as other people. want to keep things as constent as I can

how's the touchpad? The one on the 1330 sucked.

Also, what do you think re: screen. Worth waiting for a higher-resolution one?

I must say...that's one sexy laptop.

You've now got me wondering which to get...the m1330 or the m1530....

Gosh...I'm so used to a 15.4" WXGA screen that the m1530 would be great for me...

    Decisions....Decisions...

nah, that binder holding up the laptop is the manual. its go a few cd slots for the original dell cd's and other installation cd's. that thing looks like a car manual out of a bmw. unless you are talking about the thing that it was in wen i took it out of the dell box.

    nah i got:

    Creative audigy advance mb

    dell drivers

    roxio creator 9.0

    more drivers

    reinstalation dvd

trend micre pc cillin internet security

    and dell media direct disk

though i have taken almost all that bs software off. i installed norton Cooperate for the security and a few other small programs, but thats the way its going to stay.

for the speakers, not anything extravagent(sp?), though what do you expect from a laptop. the battery i haven't really tested. though, when i got it, it was at like 75% and i ran it dry for about an hour an a half. wasn't gaming though, just making all the changes to the way i like it.

It varies from area. I know in canada you have to select it(extra 20$) in the bluetooth category. Pretty sure it comes standard in america though.

nah the remote should be included.

the reason i think i got an extra one is it wasnt with the other one. the extra remote and headphones were on top of everything. also, the headphones that was on top of everything is in a diff. bag. the set in the manual bindr has a "XPS" logo on it and the other one don't. though, maybey its supposed to have 2. no one has chirped in yet to set it straight.

Go into your Device Manager. It'd be listed their if you had it.

If you don't have it, you can simply order the chip from Dell and install it yourself. VERY easy to do. Easier then RAM.

Like I said, just order it from Dell if you really want it. That's what I did. They'll send you the software with the chip too. It's only $20 or so.

It looks nice, however, I don't like the low res. screen. I would like at least 1440 x 900. The screen res. is the deal killer(at least to me).
