I have not given it a full run yet since I am at work. I did however open it up, since it was killing me to find out what LCD I got. Here are my initial impressions though:
The good
SEC330 (Samsung LCD). Only took a quick peek, but did not see bleeding or graininess. No dead pixels from initial scan. I will take a better look tonight
The bad
Definite battery wobble.
Now that I have seen the Alpine white in person, I am not sure I would have picked it. Makes the laptop look kinda cheap. I will post further impressions later.

Congrats anyway!
Mine was delayed till 10/1.... -
freaking sucks everyone is getting lg or samsung screens and i keep getting stuck with these crap ones...
-
lol... well at least that makes me feel a bit better for not going for a white inspiron. <3 vostro.
Although the whole battery wobble thing is making me feel a bit wobbly. What is this wobble you speak of? -
I got the same screen as you, springbok, and I love it. My only complaint is a slight amount of light leakage on the bottom.
But Im -really- impressed at how good it looks even when you change resolutions down to 1440x900 or 1280x800. -

Like does it feel like it compromises the integrity of the unit? Or is it just like a little shake?
-

post some pictures when u get home also could u put it next to something universal that we can get a feel for the size? thanks

Its not necessarily very noticeable.
Here is a quick way to detect light leakage if you are using vista - set your vista desktop background to solid-color and choose black. Then right click your task bar and uncheck the "lock the taskbar" box. Then drag the taskbar to the top of the screen (so that there is nothing at all at the bottom of your screen except black)
Then turn off the lights and look at the black at the bottom of the screen. If you see any sort of glowing there, thats light leakage. A small amount is probably normal. A huge amount that extends all the way or halfway up the screen isnt. I dont see much, just a little. -
You could also set your screensaver to black and just preview the screensaver... which is easier than having to change your desktop and move around your taskbar...

people are so picky....
-
Hey, it's your money, it's only right to be picky about it.

according the the gentleman i spoke with in corporate yes that is now going to be the norm for the screens...
