I got my Vostro 1700 with the high res glossy screen but there are 2 problems:

a)Towards the bottom whiter than it should be

b)Vertical 'rectangles' running down the screen with a kind of green tint!

These issues can only be noticed on screens such as the Vista loading bar and the Vista 'do de dah dah' logo

    Help!

LG screens are usually better than others. It just may be that you haven't seen/experienced other worst panels too. Ask for a replacement, and it just may make you realize how good you have it right now, or it may be other way.

You don't have much to lose, all you have to do is to ask.

My Mum noticed the issue the second I said 'Look at the screen' (with the blank screensaver on), so I've just mailed Dell.

If the second one is as bad or as worse I'll just get a refund :)
