I got my mothrboard replaced but When they replaced it they also relpaced the bottom casing and they gave me the casing for an XPS. I can tell because the speakers have led's on them but they won't light up because there is no connector on the motherboard for it. Also they replaced thehand rest/ trackpad and I think they forgot to put the finish on it so it is very rough. Also now my keyboard beeps when I touch it. Any Ideas?

that sucks. I would definetly send it back and have them fix it. Or at least call them up and complain. They might send you a new one in replacement.

Well I called them and they said that I have to send it in even though I have at home service. It annoys me that I paid extra for at home service but it is only for replacements. I think that they have had this problem before and there is something reallywrong and maybe they will replace it with this new 9300 they have been talking about.

This was home service? that is suppose to be their better deal. I would keep calling and complaining till they did something. That's just not even right.

They say home service is only for replacing parts not troubleshooting and that they have had the problem with keyboards beeping before.

Yep, that sounds right, because they usually think the customer is stupid and simply cannot work their machine or complain about cosmetics they will not send a tech person out for that.
If you have full cover, drop the machine on the floor and break it, and they will come out the next day (nah, don;t do that :)

I think you may have to just send it back.

Make sure you back up all your data before dropping it.

The funny thing is that they did replace my casing because I scratched I think because I paid $100 extra and also they didn't even have me run diagnostics. My expeeriences with dell is that they have good tech support but their compuetrs suck. I got a 8400 desktop about a year ago and within about 6months the hard drive died and they replaced it. Now I got a 9300 and within 3 months the sound stopped working and also the inspion logo was not permanent which shows a lack of quality and both my 8400 and 9300 have come with knicks on them. Also the people who send out replacements aren't the best because they sent the bottom casing or at least speakers for the XPS. They have LEDS in them but it does me no good cause I can't hook up the LED's but at least it still works.
Also they won't come out next day and it takes longer for the box for me to ship it in to get here than for them to actually fix it.
