Holy smokes does Dell send these suckers out fast! Mine arrived at the door in less than a week.

Screen- I opted for the SXGA and absolutely love it. The glare isnt bad when using it indoors and I tend to tune it out most of the time.

HD- Ordered a 100GB HD and about 20 of those Gigs are in the backup partition. It doesnt really make a difference for me because I tend to throw older stuff in there anyways.

Bloatware- Holy Jesus H. Christ Almighty One. Initial boot up must have taken 2 minutes to load up all the processes. After Removing some programs, running MSConfig, a Registry Cleaner, and TuneXP the bootup time has been cut to half. I still have about 50 processes running at startup but I think I can live with that.

Vid Card- I have the 256mb ATI but unfortunately I dont have any new games to test and no mouse to test them with.

Overall thoughts- The notebook is a little bit bigger than I expected. The screen lengthwise is probably as big as my 17" monitor. The notebook itself is fairly light but its sheer size can be a bit intimidating for someone who wishes to take their lappy to school each day. If you are looking for a laptop with portability as a main buying focus I would not go over a 14.1" screen.
For the green($) this notebook is mean.

So far I havent heard the fans going on but the bottom end does get warm. I wouldnt want to keep it on bare legs for too long in fear of a forest fire.

All in all I am pleased, just a little frustrated with all these unnecessary processes.

I helped my friend optimize and set-up his XPS 400 he got a few days ago. It also took about 2-3 minutes for the first boot. Also having a bluetooth mouse and keyboard made things alot harder, since nether connected on the inital boot. I had to restart via power button 3 times through the process. Now the thing is a beast, plays Oblivion at 1280x1024, full specs @ 40FPS avarage. Very nice desktop, and all for under $2000.

But yeah congrats on the 1505, another friend of mine got one for a graduation present, It's not too big, but imagine how big the 1705/1710 is. Its a solid notebook, have fun with it!

I don't find my M90 to be too large at all (same casing as an M1710). But the E1505 just seems way too thick for a 15.4". Other companies such as Asus and Sony make 15.4" laptops that seem to be much more compact than the E1505. But none offer the value you get with an E1505, so I guess you just give and take.
