just one thing... @how much is the GFX mem clocked?
400mhz or 700mhz? could you check that plz? get this freeware prog here: http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=163
install and run. just click the bottom right beside "customize" and choose "low lvl system tweaks" and check the clockrates -
Is the vram on the 8600m GT ddr2 or ddr3? Could you check?

He'll probably disappear for a while now... -_-

I would

take some pics of the jetblack top. I still don't know if I want black, red, or green. Also, did your laptop come with a media remote in the express card slot? there is rumor that they might.

Anyways....
I'm playing around with it currently. I will take pictures a little later after I'm having some fun. Just installed Oblivion.
As this will be my first time reviewing, please post everything your interested in seeing/hearing about.
In return, all I ask is how to uninstall this god damn bloatware (60 processes running WTF?)
This little notebook is slick. First glance at the Oblivion gameplay is "excellent". More later.
Thanks! And to all who receive theirs today, throw up a reply on this thread so we can get one nice, collective review. -
Tell us the 8600m GT's RAM type and clock speed please. It'd just take a second.

Gonna do the clocking, standby.

*Crosses fingers*

great job
once that is done follow the link i posted above to get rid of that bloatwarecrap and enjoy a "free" vista.
btw: i think you are the worldwide first person to confirm GDDR3 (running at 700mhz) or GDDR2 (running at 400mhz) first hand. not even dell seems to know lol
some kinda honor i think -
And since you're the first person to do so, you'll either be hated or loved depending on the outcome.

Doh, I may be having a "vista" problem. I followed the link to RivaTuner, and it stops at 100% of download. Advise.
-
maybe it would have been wiser to tell him afterwards
-
This thread is insanely suspenseful!
-
just copy&paste into your browser! -
-
So what is it? DDR2?
-
OxycontinBitritrate Notebook Enthusiast
Its DDR3
-
-
where are the damn pics?
-
Mine's here too--I just got my internet up and running after a weird error with finding wireless networks (a setting to work with bluetooth was enabled and I don't have bluetooth).
-
Could you take a screenshot of rivatuner showing ddr3 and the clockspeed? Either of you?
-
Omg Omg Woot!!! No Worries!! This Better Be True, Tell Me Teh Clocketh Speedz
-
so stella and oxy, you both confirm 700mhz on the memclock? if so, the ddr3 would be confirmed finally!
-
OxycontinBitritrate Notebook Enthusiast
How do I pull up clockspeeds? I need a place to host this screenie, btw.
-
In rivatuner, go to the arrow just beside the first "Customize..." and go to the magnifying glass ontop of the film.
Host the image here: http://xs.to/ -
amn this is an awsomely hot threat...it might deceide if i go with dell or not, and that may be the point of lot of ppl in the forum actualy
Edit: Guess with the pict of the clock speed of RIva the rep will just flow on this lucky dude haha -
repwhoring
but if that screenshot comes up i'll goodrep him anyway -
Dude come on man, pictures are must for this thread. Like from box package and everything. Picturesss !!!!!
-
a screenshot of the clockspeed would be fairly enough ..... for the upcoming 30 minutes at least

holy ****, people need to calm down. Its just a new notebook......
Oh noes i just insighted the wrath of a thousand super nerds. -
No, it's DDR3. OxycontinBitritrate, go to the second Customize... and select the first block. Enable overclocking, and then select the tab to the right of it, and go to "performance 3d". That should tell us the active clockspeed.
-
I dont think so osserp...the pict realy show 365mhz shader core.....it's a better indication than the stupid name thing.s.anyway i think your way will definitly show us, tought i realy think it's ddr2
-
-
ho sorry, my bad
so eager to see the next pict -
yeah
the card is just downclocked as it is not in 3D mode
or did anyone really believe, that the mem is clock with 3.45mhz and the core with ~180mhz? lol
actually rivatuner already shows its ddr3but might be possible that dell downclocks the core a bit under 3D performance so it would be interesting to see, if they clock according to NV specs, or below or maybe even overclock
. dell technician told me, that they clock the core @540mhz which would be 65mhz above spec

you guys are making me very nervous.
