I went through that link posted here to order your vista CDs if they were missing and it went rather smoothly. After filling out the webpage I got an email asking me to double check my box, I replied, and got another email saying it would be sent free of charge.

So I just got the package which was overnighted and it included all the CDs, not just vista, PLUS soundblaster audigy cd with registration code. Looks like I got a $25 bonus. ;)

What is the OS version on your laptop and what version of CD you got? Also, which model of laptop did you get? I just want to find out if people are still getting Vista Home Premium CD even they got a laptop with Vista Home Basic.
    Thanks.

I got basic when i ordered my laptop and basic when i ordered the duplicate CD/DVDs. But I did get the soundblaster disc/key too which I hadn't gotten with my laptop originally.

I had to look for it a bit too. Here is the original thread, if you're interested. It may contain some helpful information.

Forgive me for asking but what is so good about getting the Sound Blaster disc and code? I only ask because I received the same set of discs as well as the driver disc.

The SB disc costs extra normally, and it basically upgrades sound performance by enabling options like audio boosting and an equalizer, the latter of which I find to be extremely important.

I just ordered my set of vista discs by phone, I hope they include the SB disc as well.

Thanks for the explaination. I did another Google search and found out more info on this. It's great to get it free but boy would I be mad if I had paid for it.
