    Hello all

    Just need some help on monitoring the heat on my dell 1530 which I will get on monday. I had some questions, thanks;

    1. What is the best software I can use to monitor the temperature of my Dell 1530. And where do I download the software

    2. What is a normal temperature when...
    - Idling and doing nothing
    - Surfing the net or doing word processing
    - Gaming

    Thanks guys would greatly appreciate some feedback, need to know if the system is running well so I know whether I send it back or too keep it. Thank you!

    The idle cpu temp will be anything from 40-60 depending on ambient temp and whether the fan kicks in, but this does depend on which cpu you have.

    I think the idle temp of the gpu is 60-70.

    When gaming you can expect both your gpu and cpu to get near or into the 80's.

    core temp, rivatuner, gpu-z, everest, rmclock are all popular programs from monitoring your hardware.

    Use Notebook Hardware Control. Use Google or an other search machine to find it. Normal temperature for your graphics card is maximum 65 degrees Celsius. Further temperatures I don't know, but they don't have to be much higher then 65 degrees Celsius.

    not really, it depends how hot your room is and what type of surface your laptop is one.

    fwiw, i am running cpu at 75-77 and gpu at 76 right now with 2 mmorpg game clients and Ie7 running.

    re:software people have their own preferences try them and see which you like.
