Yeah, so... I don't know, maybe the sparkley i'm seeing is normal. But this new SEC has a fairly good amount of light leakage at the bottom. Should I get it replaced again? (in-home)

go for it what harm can it do .. you paid for it i would do it till they get it right imo is the new one sparkly as well.. some think a small amount of this is a defect when in fact its inherent to lcd's .. it should not look like oil on the screen or if you were to take a very lightly damp cloth to clean the screen you would see the sparkles it should not appear this way

I could be doing this for weeks. Who knows, maybe next I'll get an AUO with worse graininess and light leakage.

It is all so much a luck of the draw type of thing, and if you look hard enough, you can always find something wrong with the screen, whether it's unevenness, light leakage, dead pixels, banding, clouds, graininess, etc.

Problem is, once you notice it, it's almost like your eyes have been opened and it's hard to be satisfied ever again.

If anyone's got the cure, let me know. I wish I could chill out a little bit more about these things. The solution I've reached: do not buy an expensive laptop. If I pay $800, then I can "accept" the imperfections. But not for $1500 or $2000.

yep...imo, I would of stayed with the old system. You were lucky enough to get a LCD without a back light bleed. Just keep getting it replaced until you find a screen that's acceptable. Since it's a in-home repair, can't you see the condition of the LCD screen before he replaces it?

He only has 1 screen. If there's a problem he has to come back the next day.
