    So, I finally got my M1530 :).

It's really an awesome laptop. The finishing and boxing is extremely nice.

Unfortunately there is this issue. I'm seeing my lower right corner of the screen a lot darker than my upper left corner of the screen. Is this defined as "Grainy" if not, that what is grainy.

    Please help.

That isn't grain, rather the backlighting of the lcd. It can be somewhat uneven. I have the same vignetting you have on my M1710, but it doesn't bother me at all (don't really notice it anymore).

    thanks for the quick response.

I agree, I've started to notice it less already, but it shouldn't be like this. I'll ask for a replacement or get it fixed. Also, comparing it with my sis Sony NR, the screen actually kinda sucks. Everything else is better though.

It's a common LCD problem, I assume. I once had it on my desktop LCD, but it's either gone or I don't notice it anymore because I moved my taskbar to the top of the screen. lol

And yes, it's not grain. Graininess is when the screen sort of looks like wet, but no matter how much you rub it with a cloth, the shiny speckles don't disappear.
