I am talking about the Dell XPS M1530 here by the way.

Does anybody know of the figures for the grain screens, as in what percentage are failing and what is the most common Resolution panel which this si happening to. Also the countries with the highest percentage would also be a good one to have.

I am just asking since i ordered mine, with a 1440x900 panel and want to know the odds of me having to send it back.

The only known figure is: the greater you worry about grainy screens, the better chance that you will get a grainy screen.

Yea, the user polls is about as good as it gets. However, do take the poll results with a grain of salt because the poll's been up for a long time an thus represent an average of what people have been getting since the poll was set up. Dell may have changed the relative number of each panel by now tho (for better or for worse). Also note that the population on this forum does not represent the population of Dell's customers, so the results may be biased in a way.

In any case, there's no point in worrying about your panel. Just check the screen when you get it, and if you think it's fine, then it's fine. If not, get it replaced.
