I have an Inspiron 9100 (used) and feel as if I have been in the hospital forever. I have one question on this borrowed 9100 running XP premium that was put in overtop of the original copy of XP Home sp1. The copy of Explorer doesn't seem to have an address window in it? This has to be an inspiron invention?

View > Toolbars > Address bar?

Or are we talking about Vista Home Premium?

Nonetheless, it should be a similar fix for IE7...

We're talking MSDN Proffesional here. i'm a Most valued Professional there. I don't see anything like ''View" under Tools. I don't have a toolbar.

Assuming you are using IE6 included in XP SP1 you should check this Microsoft KB article: http://support.microsoft.com/\kb\842903

Sounds like a registry problem that may have occurred during the reinstall of XP.

I don't get anything from the address you left. You know registry problem does sound about right. I don't know if you were talking about this being a registry problem or not but this computer has always shown the adress of the addressee but never before and only afterward when it shows the UIC.In other words, it just shows no address window before it has an address.

I said before, I was running explorer 7.
