    Hello,

I'm now using my brand new 9300. I wanted to know if there is any fix for the graphics problem with IE using the 1920x1200 resolution. Some of the pictures come out very pixelated and/or blurry. Is there any way to correct this???

Never mind.........I found the registry hack by changing the HR value and now everything appears perfect!

Yeah, IE is very bad at high res, but FF works great.

Once you do the registry hack, and change the resolution value, IE is just like FF. Unfortunately, Dell puts the wrong value in with the wuxga screen....

It's pretty easy. Open regedit and expand to
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER
    Software
    Microsoft
    Internet Explorer
    Main
In the Main folder (not FeatureControl) find the UseHR key and modify the 1 to a 0. Then close regedit and IE, if you have it open. Open IE and you should be set.

You can also set your DPI back to 96. Dell defaults it at 120.

Go to Display Properties > Settings > Advanced and it should be right infront of you. This does not require any registry editing. However, items on screen will get a bit smaller.

    Hi all,

This is my first post. I have the Dell Inspiron 6000 with this graphic problem. I have the 15.4 WSXGA. That registry setting makes the images smoother, but everything is a bit too small now.

Pardon the ignorance, but what is FF? Is it a browser alternative to IE?

    Thanks!

FF runs much cleaner on the net because FF doesnt use activex, a backbone to alot of spyware/adware. A link to it is

    http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/

Many geeks use this browser other than IE

IE still doesn't scale anywhere near the level of FF. FF is the way to go for most sites. For the few that need IE you can tell FF to use IE for them.
