I have a M1530 (configs shown on my sig) that seems to lag a lot when playing this game. When spawned at the beginning all is well at around 40-50 FPS. Then when it gets crowded it dropped to nearly 10 - 15 FPS. I barely have the ability to aim and whatnot. Then the graphic performance drops to about 30 - 40 FPS while just standing around.

It was much worst before I did a clean install of the system. The game kept on minimizing/maximizing upon start up, froze after a round in-game, average FPS was at 15 - 30, etc.

Now, I tried downloading drivers from laptopvideo2go and the installer says it could not recognized the hardware. I have Vista 32bit.

All the reviews and comments i find says that this game should run smoothly throughout with the configuration I have.. or am I wrong?

Make sure that you are not running in power saving mode. Even my DDR2 card can push out more than that, plus I have a much worser CPU than you do. ([email protected])

Edit: also, include the setting you are running at will help us diagnose the problem.

Thanks, I didn't know that. I installed the newest one which is 177.89 it helped quite a bit, however when it came to a crowded area, it starts to lag again.

I don't know how to go configure the power saving mode other than bottom right battery icon near time (it was at High Performance). Also here are my specs:

I'm sure Pai means the game settings, such as resolution, detail, etc.

It's all in the image I posted. It's a screenie.

Here it is for convenience's sake. (1440x900 - Full Screen)

In any case, graphics have improved after I switch to High Performance, however at some point, lag spikes still happens. I'm guessing that's normal for everyone.

Im on Dell inspiron January 2008 drivers for my 8600mGT (mines ddr2 vs ddr3 in yours) and I play TF2 at 1920x1200 with everything maxed and no drops. Hell my ATi3200 does TF2 at 1280x800 fully maxed out. I would check your temps while gaming as you may be over heating. As for the minimizing/maximizing on its own mine does this from time to time, but mainly when I open portal.

Confirm that the profile for TF2 in the NVIDIA control panel has the 3D Application set to control Vertical Sync. The NVIDIA Control Panel may be overriding the TF2 setting and enabling vertical sync which is not a good thing in TF2.

Yes, I know, I should be playing this without lag at all. I've played for 2 hours yesterday and I must say the graphics was way better than before, however the lag spikes are still there and that's whats pissing me off haha. I tried taking off my battery while gaming and it dropped the temperature by a lot. I usually had to take my left palm off the laptop from time-to-time while gaming, however with it off, it feels way way cooler and I never had to let go anymore. I need a program that can tell me the specific temperature as this may be something important.

And I forced off my vertical sync in the nvidia control panel. I couldn't make a specific program settings just for TF2 as I can't find where that's installed on my computer..
