So, i've decided the path i should go with buying my first laptop is to get a Xps M1530

will configure it from dell with the

2.4 Ghz processor ( since 150$ for 100mhz doesnt seem like a deal lol... is it?)
    2 Gb Ram
2xx HDD 5400 Rpm ( I dont file transfer alot so i should be ok... do games need faster rpm? or only for movie downloads etc?)
    256 mb Graphics
All the rest is about the base configuration..

I will be putting the max 4 gigs of ram into the laptop, but... looking at tigerdirect i'm hit with a decision that i dont know anything about...

noticing some ram options are $60+ per gig, or some are 80$ for 4 gigs... what TYPE of ram should i upgrade with, really not sure, are there unreputable names that i should avoid? or is ram... ram?

I Should mention that i'm in Canada, and therefore i got the fist from dell... i dont think there are ANY Xps coupons in canada right now since i've looked... definately no 20-25% off deal like you lucky people in the States... does anyone know of any Canadian xps coupons? or theres a snowballs chance in hell theres some out there ?

Any help on what ram i should get, if the 2.4 Vs 2.5 Ghz processor really makes that much of a difference and if a 7200Rpm is any better than a 5200Rpm HDD makes a difference for gaming would be great :D

    thanks all :D

Yeah, but you get a quicker FSB as well. T9300 to T9500 is the biggest rip because that is just 100mhz difference.

If you plan on multitasking, like faster loading of windows, you want to eventually get 4gigs. Choose the lowest option on Dell site and order rest of RAM from elsewhere because its cheaper.

7200RPM helps games load faster, but in actual gameplay it doesn't matter. It also provides a 10% increase in the startup time of the computer. If you don't mind, thats fine.

    Good Choice.

They are all the same. Go with the cheaper one. Typically the most reputable brands are Corsair, Kingston, GSkill, Crucial.

As much I I would like to bring good news, no there isn't any available. :/
