Ok, is it worth it to pay $50 more for a 7200 rpm hard drive compared to the slower one? Is it worth it to pay $100 for a 2.2 ghz Santa Rosa compared to the 2.0 one?
Which would you chose?
Config A:
2.2 ghz Santa Rosa w/ 7200 rpm hd + spend $150 extra
Config B:
2.0 ghz Santa Rosa w/ 7200 rpm + spend $50 extra
Config C:
2.2 ghz Santa Rosa w/ 5400 rpm + spend $100 extra
Config D:
2.0 ghz Santa Rosa w/ 5400 RPM + spend $0 extra

The 7200RPM drive is worth the $50, definitely.
The T7300 upgrade to the T7500 is NOT worth it... -
So you're saying the 2.0 to 2.2 is not worth $100?

Depends on what you do with it. While many people say extra processing power isn't worth the money you pay for it because they simply don't use that much for their tasks, if you do stuff like encoding or any processor-intensive applications, you'll surely notice a difference.

Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
I chose configuration B on my D830. Have no regrets. IMO the faster RPM is definitely more worthwhile than the extra .2 GHz.
