Have you ever noticed that HD 3450 on Studio 1537 works much better than 8600M GT DDR2 on Vostro 1500?
It plays AVCHD Blu-Ray m2ts smoother and performs Vista Aero great even in power saver mode w/ battery

That doesn't mean that the ATi 3450 is a superior card; in fact, it's weak as crap. It can barely run TF2 at 1280x800, and CoD4? Fuhgettaboutit!

So why can't 8600M GT play AVCHD blu-ray without stutter problem if it's powerful than HD3450 ?
    So annoying :(

Sounds to me like a codec issue or something. What program are you trying to play these videos in?

PowerDVD Ultra 9.0.1719a for both. I've no problem with HD3450.

This sounds like an obvious question to ask, but what are the specs of the two laptops? You may not have taken the Vostro's processor and/or ram into consideration.

It could simply be down to the on chip video decoding being better on the 3450 than the 8600. I mean, I'm not saying that's the case, but if the same spec machine with the 3450 is not stuttering when playing HD video when the 8600 does, well then if everything else is up to date (drivers, media player) then the only thing that is left is the difference in decoding.

You might want to make sure the 8600 you are comparing it to does not have any of the power saving features activated though.

This shouldn't particularly matter to be honest, as both of these GPUs have HD video decoding within the GPU - so the CPU probably doesn't do much of the work anyway.

I tried everything. ATI is much better. HD3450 performs Aero 3D Flip even in Power Saver battery mode & Low 2D Clock very well

Hm, I never had that problem with my 8600M GT on my 1720.

What about other videos? Do they exhibit the same problem? Also, check your task manager; make sure not too many processes are running at the background.

If all else is done, try and disable powermizer.

Oh and, just to ask - what kind of temperatures are you getting with your 8600M GT?

Everything is ok. It plays regular AVCHD files and performs aero 3D flip @ 475/400 without problem, but can't play AVCHD blu-rays and and can't perform 3D flip @ 170/100 or 275/200 smoothly. ATI Powerplay has no problem unlike powermizer in 3D flip.
