Dell updated thier HDD awhile back to the 5400. Their website states it is only a 4200. For selective systems (6000 & 9300 at least), you can get a 60gig & 80gig 7200rpm, but you will most likely have to call them and request it.

I'm 99% sure that you'll get a 5400. For some reason dell is only stating a 4200rpm, but all of the users have gotten 5400rpm to my knowledge.

If you look under the parts section of Dell's website they don't even offer 4200 rpm drives for the 6000.

Yeah, but what else would you expect from Dells "Awarding Winning Customer Service"? Who's handing out these "Awards" anyway? They deserve to be shot. And if Dell is the winner, I never want to deal with the losers.

the sales reps you talk to when ordering a computer are not customer service reps, they are completely different departments. my sales rep was amazingly helpful. i had 1 stuck pixel and literally within 2 minutes on the phone with my rep, she had a new one ordered and on the way.

you are free not to deal with them all you want.
