    HDD issue with Inspiron 1420

    Hey all,
    i have some HDD issue with meh brand new Inspiron 1420. on its very first boot(13th may), some error occurred related to HDD, twas showing the blue screen with some massage written in the white about HDD, after which lappy used to restart. i was not even able to the error massage coz it used to say for very short time. the same problem happened againn for 3-4 times. After that i sopped using the laptop from 16th may to 31st may, coz of meh exams. then on 31st may, i installed the XP on lappy & to confirm the HDD, health i installed the the Hard Drive Inspector Pro trial version. To my surprise, I found the errors in the brand new HDD, s/w was indicating them. The screen shot for the errors is below.

    The HDD manager indicating two errors, 1 abt seek error rate & other abt hardware ECC covered. The pic is self explanatory. I am more concerned abt he seek error rate. Coz last time meh desktop HDD died after the seek errors started arising.

    Can any one tell me what’s wrong with meh HDD or any solution for it. I even ran the diagnosis utility that present in the lappy initially. Its saying everything is fine

    I am thinking abt asking the HDD replacement from Dell.

    1.I can upload the initial errors file in the minidump if any one want. There are three of them.
    2. Seems that lot of ppl are having same problem with the HDD as of me.
