I want to change the HDD in my old d610, which one is better?

    WD Scorpio 1200VE or 1600VE
    Samsung HM120HC, HM160HC

The capacity is a subject of the price, so therefore the question is only about the make? WD or Samsung?

By the way, the d610 uses IDE drives? The service manual doesn't say a word about it.

Somehow I think the Samsung Spinpoints are better mobile drives, but you can't go wrong with any of those drivers - go with price or specs is what I'd do. I had the D610, they are all IDE drives even though the Sonoma 915 chipset supports SATA, Dell didn't make the D610 that way, so be sure to get a PATA/IDE drive and not SATA.
