    Hey everyone,
I recently hooked up my Inspiron to a Sharp 32 inch LCD panel through an HDMI connection. Now, the video works beautifully on it, but I am having some problems with the audio. Instead of going through the Sharp 32 LCD speakers it still goes through the laptops. What can I do to make it go through the Television speakers?
    Thanks for the Help!

Try this, right click on the speaker icon on the bottom right and click on Playback Devices and click on HDMI enable as default and click ok.

Well I just figured out that the audio works for most things, except for some video things that I try to look at on the internet. Is there a possible codec that would fix problems like this? Thanks for the help!

You can try out a codec pack. I use the K-lite Mega Pack or there is also the CCCP.

So I tried K-Lite and it worked for a while and then stopped working. Any ideas why?

What did you do in between the time it was working and when it was not?

All I did was take the HDMI cable out and then connected it back into the tv and the audio started playing through the Inspiron speakers again.

Did you change your settings back to HDMI enable as above?

HDMI was still the main source for audio in the playback devices. Weird right? I mean it'll work again I just have to install the codec everytime for some reason?

That doesn't make sense. Have you tried rebooting after you installed the codecs?

    How about trying FFD Show?

But I not have a hdmi-enabled pc/desktop to test output though..but by itself on pc, it work great...plays 90% of stuff I throw at it.

Of course for real media files, i do need to install realplayer lite codecs.

    I have a Inspiron 1526 and a Benq E2400HD monitor I got a month ago...
after trying everything I found that by going into control panel > sound
I then had to disable the pc speakers & the spdif options and now I have the HDMI sound!!!
