I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 with an HDMI port. While the port was hooked to my AV receiver, I hit a few buttons on the receiver and somehow disabled the HDMI port on the Dell. I cannot figure out how to reactivate the HDMI port. I know this is what happened--cable, receiver, balance of computer is all fine. Somehow, the received "talked" to the Dell and turned off or disabled the HDMI port or its driver, is my best guess.

Any thoughts on how to correct this?

    Thanks so much.

I'm not sure if there's a button on the Inspiron, but on my Studio 15 I press FN and F1 to activate an external monitor (like HDMI)

Perhaps you just need to press that.

On the older models, I believe the shortcut is Fn + F8.
