    Dear all,
    please guide me how I can connect my dell studio 15 HDMI port to my regular TV with 5 pin S- video in .I want to watch movies on tv from my laptop.

    ha! ha ! I also had the exact doubt but was embarrassed to say that my TV is ancient by today's standards !! It only has a S-Video Port :(

    Edit: Whatever I could see on google, a thing like HDMI to S-Video doesn't exist. As HDMI is a pure digital signal and S-Video is analog. Even if it were to exist it will cost a bomb.....better to buy a new TV :)

    HDMI carries video and sound info however . . . s-video does not. There may be an adapter for you but . . .

    Well atleast the laptop is the kinda latest. Any way it also has a VGA port .. Any new idea to connect it to the 5 pin S-video

    This thread sort of reminds me how irratating it is to have a d-sub or s-video output on a thousand dollar computer. In a world where currently everything is going to DVI or HDMI. If I wasn't so sure that I am keeping my viewsonic 19" CRT for awhile I would feel totally left out.
