I just reformatted my new Dell, and installed all of the drivers on my USB flash memory drive. However, for some reason, after installing system and configuration utilities and chipset driver, it won't read USB?! I have no idea what to do! HELP!
-
How about downloading the usb driver from Dell?

There is no USB Driver...see for yourself

What OS and Service Pack did you load???
Mark -
I installed WinXP MCE
-
I can't remember which one for sure, but either the system drivers or the chipset drivers should get the usb ports working.
Or maybe I'm dreaming -
Okay....should I uninstall or reinstall or what????
-
Did it finish completely [i.e. you let it finish the WARNING!!!! section following the main Windows install]???
Any yellow 'bangs' in the Device Manager??? [edit.... Ooops disregard]
If you have a flash drive installed during boot, does the BIOS 'see' it [F12 at the Dell logo screen; see if it appears in the list of choices]??
Any other USB device to check with???
Did the Dell Notebook System Software get installed?? [edit...Disregard this one too!!! Sorry should have read your original post more closely...]
And fwiw the NSS and chipset drivers require a reboot following the installation...
Sorry for no answers, just more questions....
