    HELP! Made a mistake in ordering what to do?

    I ordered a 1420 a few hours ago with a 2 yr limited warrenty because the DellCare warrenty was out of my price range. I just relialized if I downgrade the memory then I can afford the complete care and even the accidental coverage. I used a coupon and have no idea when is will reach the max uses.

    Should order the other system now and try to cancel on the first order on Monday (by phone) or tommorow online. I am worried that they will not cancel it and then I will have to eat pay the return shipping, only like $20 but still. Could I really return it though, no questions asked within 21 days? There is no reason they would not take it back, right?

    Or should I wait till Monday and try to have them change my order to what I want, but if they won't or can't (I doubt it would be ready for shipping by then) the coupon might be gone.

    Also if I place a second order with the same coupon they should honor it, right, because I am going to cancel or return the first order.

    1. Call/Chat and change whatever you would like to change if your computer has not yet shipped.
    2. Yes, you can return the system for a full refund within 21 days. No questions asked.
    3. Coupon is dependent upon its validity and will work based on this.

    Your best bet is to call/chat and say you would like to cancel the order as your friend got the same deal with complete care and even the accidental coverage for the price you are paying. They might add that in your order for free! If one representative denies, try a few more. Otherwise you can cancel and order again with your required options. If your coupon has expired for reorder wait for Cyber Monday, the Monday after Black Friday, for even better deals!

    I rather not wait too long and I am not good with catching deals. The thing is the same systems with tax and everything came to $1118.85 with 2 gigs memory and limited 2 year warrenty and the one I configured now is actually cheaper ($1112.63) just $6.22 less but with 1 gig memory and complete care (the basic one, whatever its called) and the added accidental theft. They charge $121 for the 2 gb upgrade, so I doubt they will throw in the complete care and and accidental coverage for three years on the 2 gb order. Do you think so?

    Since I can return regardless, I think I will order now. I alway miss the deals and the longer I wait the more I research things and keep seeing different laptops.

    Thank you though, I just dont want to be stuck with only the 2 year limited when I can get a good deal on the 3 year complete care now and just order more memory from someplace online.

    Edit - cant order the other one because the funds are already pending on my card so I dont have the funds to put it through now. Guess I have to wait and hope. Actually the difference on the same laptop with the complete care and accidental is only about $130 so even if they wont offer anything when I call I think I will ask them to add it for cost. I guess I was doing something wrong before when I was configin, it was coming up like $300 more which is why I only got the 2 year limited.

    Just call and ask before you reorder. Dell hates people cancelling their order and will usually do something to keep the order. The price is likely to remain the same for the next few days too. So, what's the hurry for reorder?

    What have you got to lose? Though your name says Bargain, you don't really bargain. Do you? ;)

    Yeah, I guess I will wait till monday and call. To see why I am so anxious look at my post over in "what should I buy". I impulse bought a 1520 from QVC and really got a bad deal, I like the 3 year warranty they gave but there is so much more with it (likeall these additional warranties) and the laptop is too big and to costly for the specs. I just got so worked up that I bought a $1500 "ok" laptop when I could have gotten so much more.

    I have been reseaching frantically researching since friday and found this deal today which met my needs and budget. I slept maybe a total of 7 total hours since Friday have been chain smoking and runing my back on this couch found a deal I thought was good. Then had buyers remorse again! Mostly because my boyfriend, who told me not to get the complete care, thought it was good to have and now I think so too.

    Just been up so long, thought it was over and now its not. Nothing I can do now till Monday. Guess I will try to get some sleep. Hopefully I will be able to get them to do something or cancel and a similar deal will come along. If not I will keep an eye on the outlet looking for just what I need and not researching anymore, driving myself crazy.

    Oh no, not at all. I am just annoyed with myself for being so focused on getting a good deal and not sleeping. If I took a break and came back to buy it I'm sure I would have figured out the config I now want before ordering. Didn't take it personally.
