Install the trial version of Kaspersky 2009. Update it and run a scan. Problem solved..

    $200??

Just reformat your hard drive and reinstall Windows with the disk that Dell sends you. That'll clear any software infections, but you'll also lose any data on that hard drive, so back up any documents you want to keep.

Also, when you reinstall, I recommend using Avast! or Avira antivirus. They're both free, and far superior to AVG.

Avast/Avira r really gud. I have used Avira and it is definitely better than AVG from which I switched.
    Use Avira.

For my 1555, I have bought Kaspersky Internet Security 09 which is pretty gud 2.

Just do what we suggested. Reformat your hard drive once you get your disk from Dell, and reinstall Windows. This will get rid of all traces of the infection. And assuming you don't download the same infected file again, you'll be fine.

And install a good antivirus, like avast! or Avira.

Also, what makes you think the mods here know who created the virus? Not like knowing will really help you anyway.
