So, just when I thought that the a04mobo didn't really fix anything, it seems like its usb ports are 1.0 or something.

I plugged in my portable harddrive and my laptop displays the "this device could work faster if it is plugged into a high speed usb 2.0 hub etc. etc." message

    This is just weird.
I tried copying a file and a 80mb file takes about 3 minutes.....Which is telling me that the usb ports are 1.0 ..I'm like what the heck!?!

I checked my device manager and there seems to be some sort of error with the first "Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller"
When I double clicked on it, the message in the box says
"Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"

    argh.
    helppp
    should I call dell?

Since you have a completely new mobo, check your BIOS USB settings carefully.

There is an option to use USB 1.1 only and it may be set at that.

You need the USB 2.0 drivers. Our replacments had issues but after a fresh install with latest drivers, everything is working.

Solved the problem guys, I contacted dell xps chat and they told me to download the a06 bios update fromo their website.

    Everything is working again.
    It's been a stressful day.
I love my m1330 but at the same time, it's taking up so much time to fix one problem after another :/
