    Hi

Anyone else installed the new Vista 32-bit updates today via Windows Update? There are 6 updates and after installing and re-booting I just get a BSOD after 3 secs, it disappears quickly so I can't read it. I'm not alone, another M1330 owner has reported this is the Windows OS section :(

After re-storing from my Vista disk my User accounts don't behave correctly, Vista says the profiles can't be loaded so loads a temp profile instead :(

    What's going on????

    Any ideas? Anyone else affected?

It happened to me too when I installed the new updates last night. The system kept restarting and BSODing. I even tried booting using last good configuration and safe mode.

I turned it off and turned it back on after 10 secs and it booted into windows fine.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. The good news is that a system restore -- as suggested by Vista start-up repair when using booting from the DVD -- undid the damage entirely. The bad news is that the updates then installed automatically again and did the same thing.

Right now I've set updates to install manually while I wait for a fix.

Hoorah, thanks for that - the turning off and powering back up seems to result in a successful boot with these updates installed. However because I already did a System Repair my User accounts are still not working properly, I keep getting a default profile being loaded, if I can fix this then I'll be where I want to be!
