    Hi all ..

I saw Amber's topic about how to removed Dell system restore partition
i did as he wrote here:

"To remove this partition without formatting, run this Dell Restore Remove Utility located at C:\Dell\Utilities\DSR\DSRIRRemv2.exe . This will delete the restore partition and combine the space into your XP partition."

When o open DSRIRRemv2.exe and pressing OK to delete it, it says this:

    "Loading, please wait... OK
Checking if you are logged in as a local administrator on this computer... OK
Searching for Dell PC Restore Partition... OK
Checking for supported partition next to Dell PC Restore partition... OK
Click 'OK' button to delete Dell PC Restore partition.
Deleting Dell PC Restore partition, please wait...
    Failed. Process aborted. (-22)"

as you can see it wrote: Failed. Process aborted. (-22)".
I dont know why it does that, but isent any other way to delete it?

    Thx in advance

In WinXP it is easy to delete partitions but it does not have ability to resize them like Vista now has (it can shrink or expand). The delete part can be done through control panel, administrative tools, computer management, local storage, disk management, click on partition and choose delete, it then becomes free space. In the case of XP though, you need other tools like partition magic or similar to resize the main partition. Make sure you have backups if you mess around with partitions in any way. If the partition table get messed up you'll be resinstalling. Oh btw the WinXP setup program can delete and create partitions, but cannot resize existing ones. If you wanted to reinstall you could just boot from the XP CD, delete whatever partitions you don't want, and let windows intall on the free space (or create partition and tell it to install there).
